It is a profound privilege to have pioneered a global movement in facial wellness. Back in 2004, I developed one of the earliest structured systems for facial yoga, known as Yoga Face. Several years afterward, in 2007, my book bearing the same name was released by Avery Press, a wellness imprint under Penguin Random House. This publication rapidly ascended to the top spot on Amazon's wellness book rankings and has since been adapted into Japanese, French, Turkish, and Russian editions, reaching audiences far and wide.
My passion for uncovering the profound links between traditional yoga practices and facial rejuvenation has driven me to lead countless trainings, workshops, and classes over the years. In the past year alone, I have been thrilled to partner with Daily Om, a leading platform for wellness education that now features my video courses. Among them are programs like Strong and Fit Over 60, as well as a dedicated face yoga course focused on toning and firming the neck and chin areas. Excitingly, a fresh course is on the horizon and will soon be available there.
Face yoga has exploded in popularity, sweeping across social media and becoming a viral sensation worldwide. I still vividly recall the early days when I began instructing yoga techniques specifically for the face. Enthusiastic participants would beam with anticipation, declaring, "This is going to be enormous!" Their foresight proved spot on, and today, I take great pride in contributing to a burgeoning movement that champions yoga-inspired approaches to enhancing facial health and vitality.
Yet, as a dedicated yogi at heart, I feel compelled to share a deeper perspective on what face yoga truly signifies to me. The term "yoga" is commonly interpreted as "union," representing the harmonious integration of opposing forces into a cohesive whole. Its Sanskrit root, yuj, evokes the idea of yoking or harnessing energies together.
In my approach, this philosophy translates into a comprehensive application of yoga's core elements tailored for facial benefits. These include asana (physical poses), mudra (energy seals or locks), meditative and consciousness practices such as dharana (concentration), dhyana (meditation), and samadhi (absorption), alongside pranayama (the science of breath control) and vibrational sound work. Each of these components plays a vital role in unlocking yoga's transformative power for the face.
Participants in my classes are immersed in a seamless, holistic fusion of these yoga disciplines, all precisely directed toward facial wellness. Naturally, this encompasses specialized facial poses, complemented by additional therapeutic methods like acupressure, gua sha, and time-honored Taoist practices for comprehensive healing.
Addressing the vast domain of natural facial health calls for a multifaceted strategy. However, within the unifying framework of yoga, it requires a singular, focused intention—a state of complete union and alignment.
These days, social media is flooded with individuals showcasing their personal takes on face yoga, reflecting its truly global reach. As the practice proliferates, I encourage discernment when selecting a teacher: ensure they are genuine yogis with authentic roots in the tradition.

I look forward to welcoming you into one of my upcoming trainings. In the interim, explore my courses on Daily Om or schedule a personalized online session with me.
Namaste, fellow yogis!
