As someone who often deals with anxiety, I notice it manifesting during sleep, as evidenced by the numerous mouth guards I wear down over time. My face tends to tense up with intense concentration or strong emotions, which is why much of my facial yoga instruction emphasizes techniques for relaxation and reprogramming deeply ingrained unconscious beliefs.
However, I sought to explore even further. I delved into studies on cranial sacral therapy, body posture, and the autonomic nervous system, uncovering profound links between facial health, daily habits, and the ways in which our subconscious convictions mold our tangible physical experiences.
In 2015, an opportunity arose when I was invited to join a hypnotherapy training program conducted by Melissa Tiers, the esteemed founder of the Institute for Integrative Hypnosis.
For years, I had been fascinated by the intricate interplay among thoughts, behavioral patterns, and core beliefs—and how these elements converge to construct the very fabric of our physical existence. This concept has been extensively explored in ancient yogic scriptures, notably the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, where one entire chapter out of four is dedicated to the transformative influence of mental processes.
Modern scientific research further validates this, demonstrating that our mental states can impact health down to the cellular level. A groundbreaking study from Harvard University, for instance, revealed that cancer patients who practiced visualization meditations—imagining white blood cells targeting their diseased areas—experienced significantly higher recovery rates compared to those who did not incorporate such mental imagery techniques.
The Mind's Remarkable Ability to Drive Physical Transformations
Without fully incorporating and embedding our aspirations into the unconscious mind, we remain ensnared by restrictive beliefs that dictate and limit our physical outcomes.
Hypnosis Serves as a Powerful Tool for Profound Change
This core principle was vividly illustrated during my training with Melissa Tiers.
Today, I incorporate hypnosis into my practice as an advanced approach to help clients achieve the personal transformations they desire—those universal goals we all aspire to in our lives.
Perhaps it's shedding those final ten pounds, completing a long-awaited book, reigniting hope in finding love, rediscovering a sense of attractiveness, rejuvenating and relaxing the facial muscles, alleviating chronic pain, or breaking free from habits like excessive coffee or alcohol consumption—and whatever else might fill that gap.
Take a moment to reflect: What personal change are you yearning to make in your own life?
