This year, I intentionally shifted some attention away from facial skincare to develop targeted solutions for body skin, including a wellness-oriented item. These additions have been a hit, bringing excitement and satisfaction to our community.

This represents the most significant announcement of the year: for the very first time, Renée Rouleau products are now accessible through licensed estheticians and skincare experts throughout the United States. I recognize that our devoted customers crave the tactile experience of discovering products in person – to feel their texture, inhale their scent, sample innovations, and perhaps indulge in a signature Renée Rouleau facial, just as you've requested.

I've consistently declined overtures from major retailers and big-box stores, refusing even to discuss such partnerships. My commitment remains unwavering against the pressures that shift priorities to sheer volume and profits. Too many founders compromise their vision under investor demands, a path I've witnessed repeatedly and chosen to avoid. (I retain full ownership of the company, a topic I explored in depth on the Glossy podcast.) However, expanding availability beyond online channels to hands-on environments with estheticians and trained professionals fills me with enthusiasm. These are my kindred spirits in skincare.

Welcoming New Estheticians to Our Growing Team

Reflecting on my days owning skincare spas in Dallas (and earlier in Boston), I was constantly surrounded by fellow estheticians. Closing the Dallas locations five years ago transitioned us fully to a product-focused model, leaving a void in that collaboration. Their insights spark fresh ideas, so to reconnect with my origins, we're expanding our in-house esthetician presence. These experts contribute to product innovation, customer support, social engagement, marketing efforts, and ultimately, elevated service for you.

We've recently onboarded talented estheticians Amanda and Maddie, whom you'll connect with via phone or email. Our personal approach remains at the forefront.

The Beloved ‘FLO-vember’ Challenge Lives On

Many of you are familiar with the story of my husband Florian, my partner of 22 years and our company's COO, who passed away six years ago after a brief fight with cancer. During his lifetime, every November – his birth month – we embraced the ‘FLO-vember Challenge,’ pledging to a daily health commitment for the entire month. (Burpees were a frequent choice, much to our chagrin!) My team and I uphold this tradition annually, honoring health's priority and keeping his vibrant energy alive. I feel certain he's beaming with pride.

Estheticians and Dermatologists Coming Together

What captivates me most about the beauty world is the remarkable individuals I encounter and learn from. This field brims with brilliant innovators and creatives, and my enthusiasm for their knowledge never wanes.

A major highlight in November was my return to the Science of Skincare Summit for the second consecutive year. This time, I embraced multiple roles: speaker, co-chair of the esthetician track, and exhibitor highlighting our collection. Uniquely, the event bridges estheticians and dermatologists – a rare convergence. Though we share the noble goal of enhancing lives through better skin, our methodologies have historically diverged, sometimes leading to silos.

Thankfully, that's evolving, fostering mutual respect for diverse skin treatment perspectives. The summit exemplifies this unity. It was a privilege to share a panel with renowned dermatologists, including Dr. Pimple Popper, advocating for estheticians everywhere. I'll reprise my co-chair role next year, so licensed professionals, I invite you to participate.

• A refreshed brand aesthetic. I recently emailed about our upcoming visual evolution, infusing a contemporary vibe into emails and, soon, the website. Embrace the change – you'll start noticing it in our communications, and I believe it resonates.
• Skincare lineup enhancements and fresh introductions. Discontinuations pave the way for superior innovations. Look forward to debuts like a nourishing face oil, advanced moisturizer, potent serum, and a revamped Balancing Skin Tonic. To clarify, we'll sunset Skin Drink Concentrate and Redness Care Firming Serum. Rest assured, their successors launching in spring 2025 will exceed expectations.
